You don’t even know her, but this WhatsApp function prevents your account from being stolen

Admin

If we focus on the applications of instant messaging current, there is no doubt that WhatsApp is one of the most popular and used. Many have been using their personal platform account for years, so losing it can be a serious setback for most.

It is true that for this not to happen we must take a series of security measures and thus prevent anyone from stealing our WhatsApp account. In addition, the heads of this messaging service offer us a series of integrated functions that will help us with this type of task. And it is possible that some malicious user manages to take control of our account in this application. Needless to say, this could be a major problem for most of us, something we can avoid.

And it is that next we are going to talk about a function that most of you should take into consideration in order to prevent anyone from taking control of this own account. In fact, we are referring to a feature that is integrated into WhatsApp by default and that you should activate as soon as possible. At this point, the first thing we should know is that in order to use this instant messaging application we must register our phone number.

The registration window appears when creating a new account on the platform or registering an existing account. In order to confirm that we are the owner of that phone number, we will be asked to enter a 6 digit registration code which is sent by SMS or through a call. This way we can register and activate our WhatsApp account and start using it.

Activate this security feature in WhatsApp

However, some cases have already been seen in which some malicious users manage to take control of that personal account. That is precisely why we recommend you activate and make use of the function called Two-Step Verification. We can put it into operation after registering the phone number, as we saw before.

Please note that this two-step verification is an optional feature that adds more security to our WhatsApp account. By activating it, what we really do is create and confirm a unique PIN necessary to access our account in the future. This WhatsApp verification PIN is different from the registration code that we mentioned before. To put into operation and take advantage of this security function, the first thing we do is open the application itself.

Next, we go to the main menu of the application and in this case we select the option Bill. This will give us access to a series of features related to the protection and maintenance of our personal platform account. Precisely here we find an entry called Verification in two steps. On this screen we will have the opportunity to activate this security function that we mentioned to add a new additional PIN to that of the record mentioned above.

We must bear in mind that it will be requested whenever we want to re-register our phone number in a WhatsApp application. With this simple step we will protect our account much more and prevent it from being stolen.
