The Spanish Cup of senior sailing skate returns



The “INFANTA CRISTINA” Sports Technification Center is a facility of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, located in the municipality of Los Alcázares, on the shores of the Mar Menor. These facilities have been designed for the development and practice of sports in general and water sports in particular, all of them being adapted for disabled access, and can host both training sessions and competitions in any type of sport, both individual and team.

By delegation of the Spanish Sailing Federation, the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia announces the 2022 Spanish Cup for senior sailing skate that, in its 79th edition, will be held from September 1 to 3 in Manga del Mar Minor. The race office will be located in the Infanta Cristina Technification Center in Los Naralejos-Los Alcázares (Murcia).

The docking area for the participating vessels will be located in the docking area of ​​the Infanta Cristina Technification Center.

It should be noted that the last edition of a senior sailing skate Spanish Cup dates back to 2019. On that occasion it was held at the Club Náutico Castelldefels and the first category winner was Albert Batllería, from the Badalona Swimming Club, while the winner of the second category was Victor Morales, from Club Patí Vela Barcelona. The winner of the 2019 Spanish Cup for veterans was Josep Maria Robert, from Club Nàutic Sitges, who took third place on the absolute podium, behind Xavier Roca, from Club de Mar Sitges, second classified.

In 2020, the Spanish Cup was not held due to the restrictions derived from the pandemic and last year (2021) it did not take place either.

ABSOLUTE PODIUM OF THE LAST SPANISH CUP HELD. The last edition of the Spanish Cup disputed, in 2019, had as members of the absolute podium the skaters, Albert Batlleria, in the center, Josep María Robert, on the left, and Xavier Roca, on the right.


Registration fees have been set at 50 euros per participant. The registration deadline will be next August.

The organizing committee reserves the right to admit any registration after said period. In any case, registrations admitted after August 20 will suffer a surcharge of 25 euros on the initial price, with the resulting price being 75 euros.

The organization has established that the Cup has six sleeves. The first test will have the attention signal at 2:30 p.m. on September 1. On September 2 and 3, the attention signal for the first test of the day has been set for 1:00 p.m.

For the Spanish Cup to be valid, two tests must be played.

It will be possible to discard the worst result if 4 to 6 tests are disputed. With less than four tests, no result can be ruled out.

The routes will be triangle type or windward-leeward.


The boats and their equipment will be supervised by the organization of the competition on September 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

No boat and its equipment may take part in this Spanish Cup if it has not been duly sealed by the organization.


The winner of the second category of the 2022 Spanish Cup will obtain the ‘passport’ to the first category which will be effective on January 1, 2023.
