How expensive does a smartwatch have to be? With the Moto Watch 100 Motorola wants to answer the question anew. The first render images of the Spar-Smartwatch have now appeared, which allow a good outlook on the design. At least two important question marks remain, however.
Motorola is one of the smartwatch pioneers. The traditional brand, which is now part of the Chinese Lenovo group, launched its first smartwatch in 2014, the Moto 360. So the new Moto Watch 100 has big footsteps to fill.
Round Motorola smartwatch can be seen in the first renderings
The first render images of the upcoming Motorola Smartwatch have now appeared (source: 91Mobiles). Accordingly, the Moto Watch 100 will have a classic watch design with a round display . According to 91Mobiles, this should have a diagonal of 1.3 inches and a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. Anyone who hoped for an OLED display will be disappointed. Motorola relies on an LCD.
The two buttons on the right edge of the case, which have a metallic finish, provide a visual accent.
With a weight of 29 grams, the Moto Watch 100 is lighter than the competition from Apple or Samsung. For comparison: Depending on the version, the Apple Watch 7 weighs at least 42 grams, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic at least 46 grams. After all, the standard model of the Samsung Smartwatch is lighter at around 25 grams. The dimensions of the Moto Watch are 42 x 46 x 11.9 mm.
