(27-5-2022). Merrell shoes 4 athletes from Kenya and they win their first races in Europe. Jordi Solé, CEO of Otso, is carrying out a solidarity project to support Kenyan athletes and Merrell has offered them the shoes.
Merrell has shod 4 Kenyan athletes who have already started winning their first races in Europe. This past weekend, the Kenyan Benard Cheruiyot was proclaimed champion of the Short Trail North Coast of Camí de Cavalls, completing the 27 kilometers in a time of 1 hour and 46 minutes, with an average of 4 minutes per kilometer.
He is one of the Kenyan athletes that Jordi Solé is supporting, within the framework of a solidarity project. The idea is to be able to create a training center, as well as an Otso team made up of 3 boys and 3 girls from Kenya.
The first athletes
Throughout this process, 4 athletes from Kenya have already come to Europe to participate in different trail running races. The next one will be this weekend at the 39th edition of the Travessa d’Encamp, in Andorra.
The athletes have been in the Merrell offices, where Marc Suñé, Iberia Marketing Manager, has assisted them by giving them the ideal footwear for their next sporting events.
“From Merrell we wish them good luck,” says the company.
