During the contingency, CGE announces that it will increase operating capacity by more than four times (4.5), in the event of possible events that affect the continuity of the electricity supply, as a result of rain and wind.

Santiago de Chile.- .Given the meteorological projections on the expected climate front that will affect the Metropolitan Region between June 21 and 24, and which considers rain and wind, CGE activated its preventive plan to strengthen operations to attend to interruptions as quickly as possible power supply that may affect the 19 communes where it operates in the region.

The plan contemplates measures such as the reinforcement of the operation centers, the deployment of emergency care brigades type SAE (Emergency Care Service) and home care teams, to attend supply interruptions that could occur according to the weather forecast.

CGE will have heavy brigades – dedicated to the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure such as posts and power lines – that will operate on the ground and also increased the number of emergency care brigades that will be deployed in these communes.

During this contingency, the operational capacity will be increased by more than four times (4.5) to attend to possible contingencies derived from the wind, such as the fall of elements on the networks and other events that may affect the continuity of the electricity supply.

Likewise, the company will have specialized personnel and generators to meet possible requirements of electrically dependent customers in the communes under its concession and will maintain the emergency generators installed in hospitals as a result of the plan implemented due to the pandemic.

Tips

CGE encourages its customers to take some safety measures to avoid accidents, such as not approaching conductors or cables that are damaged or that are on the ground, as they could be energized. Also remember not to intervene in the interior installations of the houses until the supply is replenished, nor try to replenish the supply yourself, but wait for the brigades to carry out their work.

It is also requested to facilitate the work of the brigades in the field and access to private properties. If you have an electrodependent family member, you are asked to contact CGE to adopt the appropriate measures.

In social networks, the company reminds its customers to find out about the status of the supply through the official CGE account and that when they report an anomaly in the supply, indicate the commune of their address.
