First flight from Santiago to Amsterdam with CO2 compensation announces KLM – Awdhesh

The Dutch airline celebrates the return of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Chile, with which the CO2 emitted will be offset through a contribution to the “CO2OL Tropical Mix” reforestation project, along with lower fuel consumption compared to previous generations of aircraft, as well as a 20% reduction in CO2 and noise emissions.

Santiago de Chile.- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is pleased to announce that flight KL702 took off today from Santiago to Amsterdam, the first KLM flight in Chile in which the CO2 emissions of all passengers will be offset, taking a leading role in creating a more sustainable future for aviation.

The CO2 offset will occur through a contribution to the “CO2OL Tropical Mix” reforestation project, which has been supported by KLM for several years.

This flight was aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, on its return to Santiago de Chile, reconnecting Chile with Buenos Aires and Amsterdam.

It should be noted that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner also offers operational and environmental advantages by consuming less fuel compared to previous generations of aircraft, as well as a 20% reduction in CO2 and noise emissions. An aircraft that is characterized by its great capacity, extensive comfort and technology that ensure an even smoother flight.

To celebrate, passengers aboard flight KL702 were greeted with a special decoration at the boarding gate and a present upon boarding the plane thanking them for their contribution to the project and their preference.

More KLM flights in Chile

In order to continue strengthening its flight program, KLM announces that as of June 20, the SCL-EZE-AMS operation will go from 6 to 7 weekly flights, which will allow passengers to better plan their trips.

Flight KL702 starts with the check-in process at 06:40 hrs, boarding at 09:45 hrs. and departure at 10:40 a.m. (STDs).
