ESPN will broadcast in Latin America the events of the new padel circuit organized by the FIP

(7-3-2022) The prestigious television network ESPN, owned by Disney, joins forces with the International Padel Federation (FIP) to broadcast the matches of its new professional circuit in Latin America.

The new professional padel circuit, which will start on March 28 in Doha, continues to take shape. The initiative promoted by the International Padel Federation (FIP), the Professional Players Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) has announced an agreement with the ESPN network, which becomes the television partner for the American continent.

The television network has signed a four-year agreement (2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) to broadcast the events of the new circuit in South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Considered one of the main sports broadcasters in the world, the American media giant will expand the access and diffusion of padel in almost 50 countries as part of this agreement.

As announced by the FIP in a statement, “soon” other important international broadcasting agreements will be announced with the aim of broadcasting and making padel known worldwide.

Also this week, the IFJ is scheduled to announce the new name, logo and other aspects of the brand identity for the new official circuit. Its new visual identity has been advised “by some of the best creative consultants in the world”.

The first category 1 event (there will be four of this type throughout the year) of the new professional circuit will be held in Doha, Qatar, between March 28 and April 2. There are already 123 registered couples from 19 different countries.

The prizes for this type of event rise to 525,000 euros per tournament, almost five times more than the money distributed by the World Padel Tour Open.
