Employment in the sports sector continues to rise

(08-02-2022) The sports, recreation and entertainment sector closed August experiencing a 5.6% drop in the number of Social Security affiliates as a result of the summer seasonality that gyms suffer.

The sports sector closed last August with an average of 229,825 Social Security affiliates, 13,756 less than those registered in July (243,581), which represents a drop of 5.6%.

The difference compared to the month of August 2021 (205,082), however, is positive: there are now 24,743 more affiliates, which represents a year-on-year difference of 12%.

In total, there were 195,186 members in the general regime, 13,690 less than in July (7% less). At the self-employed level, there was hardly any variation: from 34,639 in August to 34,705 in July.
