Awareness challenge for respect for cyclists on the road

Two years ago the Malaga cyclist Miguel Solís suffered a very serious accident, where the driver fled, and in which they were about to leave him in a wheelchair.

(23-5-2022). Miguel Solís, a cyclist from Malaga, an athlete known for his challenges with which he seeks to raise awareness of the risks that users and lovers of bicycles have every time they hit the road, has carried out an act in his fight for awareness.

The Malaga cyclist Miguel Solís left last Thursday at 4 in the morning from his place of residence, Rincon de la Victoria, to the Cathedral of Malaga where his father was the bell ringer for many years. From there he began his journey to the Cathedral of Jaén, through secondary roads, traveling through the provinces of Málaga, Granada and Jaén in a total of more than 400 kilometers and a cumulative drop of 8,000 meters.

Around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, he completed half of his journey and on his arrival at the Cathedral of Jaén he was received by the province’s councilor for mobility, Estefania Plaza, welcoming and supporting the cause that the cyclist has been seeking for a long time. for several years now, give visibility to the need for all users to know how to share the road and minimize the possibility of danger.

mindful driving

Miguel Solís, upon his arrival in Jaén: “I am here to make people aware of the need to drive consciously, with empathy, cyclists are the weakest on the road and any imprudence, or any mistake at the wheel of a car it can be fatal for us.”

Two years ago the Malaga cyclist suffered a very serious accident, where the driver fled, and in which they were about to leave him in a wheelchair. He also wanted to highlight: “Thank the company Deporinter, a company from Malaga that organizes the Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucía Masculina y Femenina, for its total awareness of the cause, and not only from now on, since they have been organizing the metro campaign for many years and a half next to the DGT to establish that minimum space between car drivers and cyclists”.

The collaboration of the Kalas, Sigma and Totum brands, each one in its own speciality, has been fundamental for the cyclist since, in his words, “it has allowed me to wear the clothes to develop a challenge of more than 16 hours that requires an intense hydration and doing part of the route at night, without them everything would have been much more complicated”.

Finally, after a few minutes of rest, Solís hit the road again to get home, where he has already rested and is preparing his next challenge so that no more accidents occur on the road.
